Green Horticultural Group were appointed by Darley Racing to undertake renovations to their sand race track at their new facilities at Osborne Park – a total track area of 9,000m2.
The scope of works involved, but was not limited to, the following:
· Obtain required levels by surveying and plotting at 4 datum points within the track.
· Grade and remove 15mm of existing sand from track surface.
· Import and spread 350 tonnes of manufactured race track sand.
· Laser level and grade track to required levels.
Existing sand was removed by PositTrack loader, and stockpiled on site, followed by the spreading of 350 tonnes of race track sand utilising our tow behind spreader. The tow behind spreader was an ideal vehicle for these works as space was limited due to the width of the sand track.
The uneven surface posed some challenges, however the end result was well received and the Darley site Manager expressed his utmost satisfaction with the outcome.
From August 2010, over 80 horses will be accommodated on this site. This state of the art facility includes stables, spelling yards and 3 differing race tracks.
Darley take great pride in ensuring that their facilities are of the highest standard, and it was with great pleasure that Green Horticultural Group were commissioned to undertake these works, ensuring that the Darley benchmark was met.
Green Horticultural Group would like to thank Darley Racing for the opportunity to undertake these works. Click here to read testimonial
